Commitment

The following explains the different commitment required for Jasspa courses, but please note, all courses require regular attendance:

Junior, Senior and Advanced Dance & Drama –
For pupils age 7+ these courses are a yearlong course requiring regular attendance from September-June. Everyone enrolled is expected to take part in Jasspa Shows. Classes are structured to run for 30 lessons and require an annual perspective. During the autumn term Dance and Drama classes focus on skills before preparing a piece for performance at one of JASSPA’s shows in March, May or June. After shows the courses resume techincal work, but in a very creative envirnoment.

Band, Theory and Choir – These courses are a yearlong course requiring regular attendance from September-June. Everyone enrolled is expected to take part in Jasspa Concerts/Theory exams.

Music lessons – Music lessons require a different perspective to group activities because it takes a long time to master an instrument! So our music lessons are a continuing course until we receive a term’s written notice. A term’s written notice means writing to us by the first day of term stating you wish to stop lessons at the end of the term. If notice is given after the start of term but by half term, lessons will be invoiced to and stop at the next half term break. At Easter we will remind you to tell us if you plan to stop lessons at the end of the summer term.

Infant Dance and Drama Classes – To reflect the young age of these pupils our infant classes do not require a full year’s commitment on joining. Instead they are a continuing course until we receive a term’s written notice.

Not Happy? If any child feels unhappy with their classes at JASSPA we ask parents to see a member of staff as soon as possible. We aim to resolve all concerns sensitively and in a good time frame.
